Matthew G Michaels, MD FAAPM&R, RMSK

Dr. Michaels is a board-certified specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation continuously since 1996. He completed his residency training in PM&R at the University of Colorado in 1996 and has been practicing interventional pain management since that time. He earned his registered musculoskeletal ultrasonographer (RMSK) certification in 2012. Developing an interest in regenerative medicine he became familiar with the limitations of conventional orthopedic and musculoskeletal interventions. To advance his knowledge, he spent two years training with Dr. Rahul Desai in Portland Oregon.

During this time he also trained at the Interventional Orthopedic Foundation in Boulder, CO, earning certificates in advanced interventional orthobiologic techniques for the spine and the knee among others.

As a PM&R specialist (Physiatrist) Dr. Michaels is committed to helping his patients understand the impact of their movement patterns and biomechanics on their ongoing pain. To harness this knowledge for the benefit of his patients Dr. Michaels’ wrote a book about back pain titled,  “Take control of your back pain”, learn how to stop hurting yourself, an Amazon bestseller.
